Later today, the United Nations General Assembly will vote on a resolution that is a blatantly one-sided, singles out Israel, and will not advance peace.
This is yet another example of how the important work of the UN is being derailed by some UN members obsessed with isolating Israel – a close Canadian ally and the only liberal democracy in the Middle East.
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) is urging Canada to vote against this resolution.
CIJA will be monitoring today’s vote closely and is available to provide background and comment to media.

- This vote is a direct result of the Hamas-supported “March of Return” riots in which terrorists sought to breach the border fence under civilian cover, cross into Israel, and murder Israelis.
- Any motion that fails to mention the role of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other terrorist groups responsible for the recent violence should be opposed.
- CIJA strongly urges Canada to vote against this blatantly one-sided attack on Israelis.
