Mina Cohn was born in Israel and now lives in Ottawa. Mina is married and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. A graduate from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with a BA in Archaeology and Jewish History, she continued her postgraduate studies in Canada at the University of Manitoba and at the University of Ottawa. Mina is a sessional professor at the Department of Religion at Carleton University in Ottawa. She is a past co-chair of the Ottawa chapter of Best of Hebrew U and the past chair of the Shoah Committee of the Ottawa Jewish Federation. Mina has been involved on Holocaust education for the past thirty years and is the director of the Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship at Carleton University’s Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies. She is one of the founders of the Centre.
