Nico Slobinsky is Director, Pacific Region with CIJA. In this role he supports the pro-Israel and organized Jewish community’s advocacy goals working with the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, community agencies, leaders in government, media, academia, civic society and other faith and ethnic communities across the Pacific Region.
Nico was born and raised in Argentina where he was active in Jewish communal life, before moving to Jerusalem, Israel. While living in Israel, Nico earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and History, as well as a master’s degree in International Law and Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also holds a Marketing Diploma from the Sauder School of Business at UBC. Nico served in the IDF Spokesperson’s unit and spent a number of years volunteering with at-risk youth and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
Prior to joining CIJA, Nico spent more than ten years in the private and public sectors in leadership roles in marketing and communications. Fluent in three languages including English, Spanish and Hebrew. Nico speaks regularly to groups on a range of topics including B.C. Politics, Israel in the media, Canada-Israel relations, Jewish community issues of concern and Jewish community advocacy.
