Martin Sampson is the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at CIJA. In this role, he manages a team of dynamic communications professionals who together provide strategic communications, media relations, and public relations advice to CIJA’s management, staff, and lay leadership. With the support of his team and his colleagues, it is Martin’s job to ensure CIJA’s voice is heard in the national and international conversation. His training sessions discuss strategic communications, public relations, marketing, and fundraising.
Prior to joining CIJA, Martin served as the Senior Director of Strategic Giving at United Way Ottawa where he had the honour of working with some of Ottawa’s most generous philanthropists and the pleasure of managing some of United Way’s most dedicated and effective fundraising professionals.
Before joining United Way, he served as an Associate Vice-President at Fleishmann Hillard Canada, one of the country’s most respected public relations and public affairs firms. At FH, he managed a diverse client portfolio that included, among many others, the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH) and the Canada-Israel Committee (CIC).
Martin Sampson is a pro-peace, pro-Palestinian, staunchly pro-Israel non-Jewish Zionist. He has enormous respect for Jewish values, is deeply concerned by antisemitism in all its forms, and takes great pleasure in working with the committed group of outstanding professionals at CIJA.
