LEAD: Learn, Engage, Analyze, Deliberate encompasses CIJA’s education portfolio, utilizing multi-pronged approaches such as interactive workshops, briefings, dialogues and facilitated conversations to increase awareness and a nuanced understanding of domestic and Israel-focused issues.
Engaging in principles of informal education, diverse topics are addressed under the LEAD umbrella, including Hugging and Wrestling with Israel, Zionism, intra- and inter-community dialogues, historical and contemporary antisemitism, and media literacy and training. LEAD’s interactive material fosters dialogue that strengthens community unity while embracing diversity of opinion.
Programming is adaptable to meet the needs of different age groups, in different venues, with varying degrees of previous knowledge and engagement. Some examples include, but are not limited to: day schools, youth groups, March of the Living pre/post trip education, synagogues, federations, community conferences and summer camps.
Those interested in LEAD programming can use existing initiatives or generate new material, through a consultative process, to meet specific needs.
