Jerusalem, Israel – Today, Transport Minister Marc Garneau announced an expanded Canada-Israel air transport agreement that will allow designated airlines to operate up to 19 passenger flights per week between the two countries (up from 12).
In response, CIJA CEO Shimon Koffler Fogel issued the following:
“Minister Garneau is to be commended for today’s announcement which helps strengthen the ties between Canadians and Israelis and helps facilitate trade and investment between the two democracies. Whether it’s a family connection, a first-time tourist experience, or a business opportunity between Canadians and an entrepreneur in the Start-Up Nation, travel between Canada and Israel fosters the deep friendship between our two countries. That steadfast friendship is rooted in shared values and interests, and we look forward to seeing the many opportunities today’s announcement helps facilitate come to fruition.”
