Winnipeg

The Jewish Federation of Winnipeg and the Local Partner Council of CIJA represent Manitoba’s vibrant Jewish community to decision-makers and decision-influencers at the federal, provincial and local levels.  Professional staff and grassroots advocates have developed and maintain warm relationships with local stakeholders to advance issues of concern for Manitoba’s diverse Jewish community. More than 16,500 Jews contribute to the province’s dynamic cultural and business life—the majority of whom live in Winnipeg, and our community has played a significant role in the development and growth of Canada since 1882.

CIJA is the recognized contact for matters concerning Israel, antisemitism and domestic issues affecting Manitoba’s Jewish community, and works with members of government and other community leaders to enhance the relationship between Canada and Israel, to address security concerns, and to support advocacy efforts on university campuses.
