Atlantic Canada

The provinces of Atlantic Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) contain several Jewish communities that are relatively small in size and spread over a wide geographic area. As in other parts of Canada, these Jewish communities have played an integral role in the development of the broader community. The Centre’s local partner, the Atlantic Jewish Council, is an umbrella organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing the quality and continuity of Jewish life in Atlantic Canada, and to supporting the State of Israel. The major responsibilities of the AJC Local Partner Council are Israel advocacy; community relations, fighting antisemitism, and promoting interfaith dialogue and multiculturalism. The AJC Local Partner  liaises on a local and national level with government and a large number of Jewish and non-Jewish organizations.

For more information or to get involved, please contact Executive Director, Atlantic Jewish Council, Naomi Rosenfeld.
