The GTA Community Advisory Committee (CAC) chaired by Yael Karol provides insight and advice to CIJA drawn from across the GTA Jewish community. The GTA CAC is a committee of the Local Partnership Council (LPC) which oversees CIJA’s advocacy activities in the GTA, in partnership with UJA Federation of Greater Toronto.
Meeting six times a year, the Committee is a forum for discussion of initiatives and strategies to deal with issues of Jewish concern, including Israel advocacy, social services, and antisemitism. The GTA CAC strives to include a wide range of viewpoints and backgrounds by welcoming diverse segments of the community – demographically, religiously, geographically, and ideologically.
Membership responsibilities include:
- Identifying community concerns and advocacy opportunities for CIJA
- Proposing local initiatives and strategies to deal with issues of Jewish concern, including but not restricted to Israel advocacy, community social services, and antisemitism
- Providing analysis and feedback on initiatives proposed or sponsored by CIJA
New members with an interest in public affairs and issues of Jewish concern are welcome. To get involved contact Cindy Osheroff or 416-638-1991 ext. 5126
