Jewish Ontarians are deeply concerned about the rise of antisemitism.
Sadly, our community is too familiar with deadly and violent antisemitic attacks, like the ones in Pittsburgh, San Diego County, Jersey City, and Monsey.
At home, Statistics Canada reports that the Jewish community is Canada’s most frequently targeted group when it comes to hate crimes.
The largest increase in hate crimes occurred right here in Ontario, rising 67% from 2016 to 2017.
We cannot afford to be complacent. An effective strategy to fight antisemitism begins with a clear definition, so that authorities – and all Canadians – can identify and combat antisemitism when it arises. Bill 168: The Combating Antisemitism Act provides an internationally accepted definition which empowers government and civil society to tackle this growing scourge.
Join us in calling on all MPP’s to support The Combating Antisemitism Act!
