Media Resource Guide

Letters to the editor, comment boards on online articles, and radio call-in shows are all important ways to share your message with the broader Canadian public. We have provided the below list of prominent media outlets across the country, along with contact information, for your use.

When sharing your thoughts via the media, always be sure to keep these tips in mind:

  • Letters to the editor should aim for approximately 150 words or less.
  • For ease of readability, use shorter words and shorter sentences.
  • Always be factual, and be careful to avoid inappropriate humour or sarcasm.
  • Focus on a single, easily digestible message. Don’t drift across topics.
  • If possible, offer a personal story or anecdote connected to the issue.
  • Find a way to make the issue relevant to Canadians who may know nothing of the subject. For example, when discussing Israel’s small size, use Canadian analogies.
  • Be sure to check out the Centre’s extensive research materials and communications products, in order to assist you in your messaging and facts.
