Today, the Israeli Prime Minister revealed that – after a daring and extraordinary operation – Israel has obtained more than 100,000 secret Iranian nuclear files.
The documents demonstrate Iranian leaders lied about having an illicit nuclear weapons program. This is a clear violation of the P5+1 accord, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which required Iran to disclose all previous nuclear activity.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel is turning the files over to the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and others in the international community. Across the political spectrum in Israel, government and opposition parties alike have voiced strong concerns about flaws in the JCPOA and Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
“The mass of high-level intelligence revealed today indicates Iranian officials covered up their secret nuclear weapons program, a clear violation of the agreement,” said CIJA CEO Shimon Koffler Fogel. “This development reinforces our long-stated concern about the agreement and our assertion that the Iranian regime cannot be trusted. The intelligence revealed today clearly shows the failure of current oversight measures, which have proven to be insufficient and incapable of finding this damning evidence.”
